Some say you can't get fantastic good something to stop starvation for $5 on the Upper East Side, which brings me to this -- a quasi-meal for under $5. It's the bare bones, cheapass, fiscally-challenged and "I get paid on Friday but until then have 5 bucks" guide through the Upper East Side's delicacies. Installment number one:
1) Burritoville (There are a few locations on the UES, including spots at 90th and Second, and 78th and Second): Chicken taco - $3.57, chips and salsa - free with purchase, cup of water - free if you ask. TOTAL: $3.57. Yes, you sometimes have to put up with a white guy talking incessantly about how boring white people are, but you're paying less than $4.
2) Figaro Pizza (1469 Second Ave, near 77th): Two slices of cheese pizza: $4:50. TOTAL: $4.50. Figaro's open until 4 AM during the week, 5 AM on the weekends. Be prepped for conversation with the drunk crowd about how "awesome the Yankees are" if you're going in late.
3) Sassy's Sliders (1530 Third Ave, near 86th): two beef sliders with everything on it - $2.18, a small regular order of fries - $2.19, TOTAL: $4.72. Oh, and Sassy's delivers.
