Some Interesting Search Terms

In review of some recent traffic, I thought I'd share some odd search terms used to find 78thand2nd: Craigslist businesses, inside mystery spot (what?), women who sue (?), sleeping with escorts (?), the Yankees (wrote about them twice, I think), Boston Red Sox (ditto) and black holes (?).

Cool Tech: ZIPskinny

Check out ZIPskinny, a recently launched website that allows you to quickly view and compare tons of demographic data culled from the 2000 census.

The site basically takes data that is typically torturous to go over and organizes it in a way that is really fast and easy to get through.  All the typical census data is included -- economic and social, info on race and age, etc. -- and you're able to quickly compare zip codes (up to 20) via a handy tool.

Some 10021 data points:
· Education of Bachelors degree or higher: 75.3%
· People below poverty line: 5.2%
· Household income over $200,000: 19.1%

'Golddigger' Hits Craigslist For Advice

The Craigslist pot is being stirred with a posting from a "woman" looking for advice on how to bag a well-earning guy - one making more than $500K. The post includes this: "Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys." And the author asks for specifics on where to go to meet men, etc.

Odds are heavy on this post being bullshit -- the same post is basically on the site from the guy's perspective as well -- but the responses are pretty hilarious and worth taking a look.

The original post starts like this:

"Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all.

Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won't get me to central park west."
